TESTIMONIALS/ENDORSEMENTS
"Ewan kindly offered to come visit us regarding our 37kg German Shepherd Shane, whom we had been having some problems with. After spending time with Shane, Ewan showed that some of these "problems" were not with the dog, but with ourselves and the lack of communication. He also gave some very interesting information regarding the thought process that Shane was going through in certain situations, and we felt this was a massive help in helping us to understand what the dog was thinking - instead of presuming the dog was thinking as we were!!! We also received some literature to give us additional information. Shane has become even more obedient since Ewan's visit thanks to his advice - thank you ever so
much."

"I have no hesitation in recommending Ewan. Our dog, Storm, a hybrid wolf, was very aggressive when you approached him when eating or tried to remove a hide bone from him. Ewan explained how Storm lacked understanding because of how we communicated with him. We could not believe how simple things could put us back in control. Now we can approach him and remove his food without any growling. Thank you very, very much"

"Bobby does seem to be much better with other dogs now, thanks to yourself and Polo of course.
We would like to thank you very much for your help with Bobby in his training. Your advice and help has been invaluable and we would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone who may have problems with their dog, you certainly seem to have a great understanding and rapport with them."

"Ewan was recommended to me, and I must say I was not disappointed. Scoop, my 2 year old Weimaraner had a worrying habit of growling and barking at other dogs in the park. I was worried that he might bite another dog or person. I did not look forward to the walks as he was very strong and powerful on the lead. Ewan showed me how to train Scoop properly and how to feel relaxed. He also showed me how to read Scoop's body language and how to "untrain" his aggressive behaviour.
Thanks Ewan"

"Hi Ewan, just thought I'd let you know I got Chicco a good home, He seems to be settled. . Once again thanks for your help and information it was a great help. Megan is looking for him now and again, She's back to her normal self."

"Hi Ewan
Things are going great. There has been such a change in Bud over last 2 months and they are getting along together better than ever. Bud's biting has completely stopped almost, the only things he gets upset over now is some things when being groomed like ear plucking etc. but apart from that he doesn't bite and is fine when he meets new people out walking, which was always a worry before. He is also much less possesive with toys, his general behaviour has just improved overall which is great. Yoda hasn't had as much of a visible change but things are much better overall, he is much happier with Bud it seems and they play lots and even snuggle and sleep together sometimes which is nice!
Many thanks for all your help, it has been great and wish we had done it earlier. We will contact you in the future if we have any problems again.
Caroline and David (Yoda and Bud), Dunfermline
Hi Ewan,
Training is going well, I think she knows when it is one of us at the door because she is as good as gold but when the postman comes she is still barking a lot, but calms down a lot quicker and gets into her Good Girl position in the dining room whereas before she would run loopy between the door and the utility room so we are definitely making progress. I still have not mastered being in control of the Hoover but I can get her to stay in the living room whilst hoovering everywhere else and the other day Colin said she just went to her bed which is a first.

"Hi Ewan
I was on a half day Friday, and this is the 1st chance I have had to e-mail you today.
Well what an improvement in Azzurri, there is so much to tell you. Firstly we didn’t relent and let him into the bedroom to have his bed on the floor, we stuck with him sleeping in the hall, apart from Wednesday night he hasn’t played up at night – no barking or whining or scratching at the door. When he is getting fed he asks Azzurri to sit at the kitchen door and when Drew puts his bowl down he has Azzurri wait until Drew says he can now eat. When Drew takes him out he has Azzurri sit in the hall until Drew puts his jacket on, he continues to have Azzurri sit for him to put the leash on, and only when Drew says to go they go – Drew always walks out of the door first and enters first, we cannot believe the change in Azzurri, now we are able to chat when we want, sit together when we want without the constant barking and demanding and controlling behaviour from Azzurri. We were sitting on the couch last night and Azzurri was asleep on the floor, Azzurri all of a sudden barked a couple of times, we firstly ignored it but he barked another few times, Drew pointed his finger and sternly said NO! Azzurri lay his head back down and went back to sleep. There have been a couple of times over the past 5 days when Azzurri has had a little barking fit, straight away Drew has put him out the room and only let him in when he has stayed quite for a period, he then lets him back into the room but we just ignore him and he lies down again and chills out, we have continued with the ignoring him when we are coming in the door etc, we gives him a clap/cuddle when we say – which is when Azzurri is calm and relaxed, we then invite him into our space but only when we Say.
The atmosphere has changed so much, we have a more relaxed/calm and happy dog, and Drew and I are back on track with our relationship.
We cannot thank you enough Ewan"

"Hi Ewan,
Lovely to hear from you.
What a difference so far, even on Sunday night, they are catching on really quick, and so am I.
Peace perfect peace now when I am doing things, no dogs following me and wanting attention all the time. They are all lying on the floor very serene whilst I am e-mailng you.
I knew I had found the right person when I spoke to you on the phone, and when you walked through our door I could just sense your calming nature.
About the photos, I unfortunately do not know how to transfer onto the web, maybe you could advise. I only have photos on my mobile. It would be lovely to see them on your web site.
I will get back to you regarding a date for your visit."

"Hi Ewan
Today I went for a long walk with (Kira and) Ben! After her first growl on meeting him and (subsequent) telling off she walked with him side by side on the lead. Feeling brave, as Ben is frisky, we let them both off (leash). She was a different dog! Playing together. She let him leap all over her and steal her stick! We walked through a very tight lane where we came to a large German Shepherd where the owner was trying to hold him behind her. I put her on the lead to pass. Keeping calm she walked right by. No noise!! Later another big Briar, same size as Ben, came to play with her while she was loose with a stick. She carried on playing and let him sniff her bum and played too! Only growl during this part of walk was on way back. I put her on lead as we came to 2 small dogs - one was yapping and she barked back. I told her off but both Karen and I noticed her bark was not aggressive and she stopped immediately when told off. We passed another dog (both off lead), a Spaniel after that, and she ignored them, walking right past! I'd never have believed this was possible!! Thank you so much."
"Hi Ewan
Progress report - the Belgian shepherd she used to lunge at from across the street she is now able to pass without incidence and we have even been able to stand on the same side of the road talking. she was non reactive - their dog remained alert but didn't lunge or bark. i gave them your card!!
Off lead when playing she completely ignores other dogs even if they come up to her. On lead I have noticed that when I say hello to other dog owners she passes any dog without incidence. I can now even talk to people with dogs she has never met before and she sits quietly.
Another problem was an aggressive puppy she lunged and barked at from a distance - she can now sit quietly while I talk to the owners - even if the puppy annoys her!!
And the final bit of good news - we took her running yesterday. before she used to lunge and growl at the occasional dog. Andrew ran in front, Kira ran alongside me. We passed many dogs on and off lead [some even chased us] she didn't even bother!! It was wonderful!!
Things to try now are me running alone with her and going to Mugdock Country Park - lots of dogs!! Haven't tried socialising with Sally the Staffy yet as owners are not keen. And if we ever manage a vet visit without causing canine world war 3 - we will know she is completely cured of her fear issues and dog - dog aggression. As you said - patience and perseverance! It is certainly paying off.
Thank you once again - we could never have done it without you. It is one thing to read about it or watch techniques on tv, but you still have to master that confidence which only comes from actually seeing it being done and trying it under your guidance and supervision, Changing this takes lots of patience and practice, which I do believe is only possible once you have seen it in action!
Anita, Andrew and Kira (Bearsden)
Dear Ewan,
Thanks very much for these – Barney and Wolf are already behaving much better, thanks to you and the techniques that we have started using as per your advice.
We read the documents that you have sent, and see how we get on over the next couple of weeks – we are then on holiday for a week, but will be back in touch maybe in about a month’s time.
Yours,
Philip, Anna Louise and Barney and Wolf (Edinburgh)
"Hi Ewan,
It's James here.
Thanks for coming out to see us so soon. We are working hard with Murphy and are very pleased to say we are getting great results.so far. He and Tina (Poodle) have been getting on fine. Been left in kitchen at night..On Sunday he cried a we bit but it was not as bad as before and on Monday night we never heard him. As for being left during the day he is doing great at that too. What a big differance. Thanks again and thank you for sending us the information. I have been looking through some of it and it makes for good reading. We will contact you soon about a second visit."
UPDATE : Hi It's James here just an up date on Murphy. He is doing great, we can
now leave the house and there is not a sound. It has been really good
and we are so glad that we came to you for help. The things you told us
to do have worked wonders. We will phone you soon to come out and check
on the progress I think you will be pleased. Thanks again. James

Hi Ewan,
Thanks for all your help and advice. I took the dogs out separately at lunch time and used all the techniques you showed me and Sasha was great. I made her sit at the kerb before we crossed the road and she did this with no problem.
I put the relaxation cd on at lunchtime but was not here to witness what happened. However, will put it on when we are here to see how they get on.
Thanks again
Kim, Colin and Sacha (Cowdenbeath)
Hi Ewan,
Thanks again for your time on Monday night, it's really helped us to get back in control. It's obviously early days so we'll keep you posted with our progress but so far so good.
Thanks a lot,

Hi Ewan
I found the meeting really helpful and informative and supportive, I was aware I was the problem but thanks for not standing in judgement. Ernie is doing brilliantly and as you said he is learning very quickly. Me on the other hand – well let’s say it is an experience – I realise that (and am not very impressed with myself for it either) I have created a lot of his difficulties because I actually needed him for comfort and as a reason to get over the recent events – didn’t realise I could be so selfish but am not going to give myself a hard time about it, just need to keep moving forward. He has learned very quickly that he is not allowed up, sometimes when we are out of the room he sneaks up but when I go back into it I immediately ask him to get down and he does so without any resistance. Out on walks he is amazing. Tried to change my mind set and walk out confident, tall and relaxed with his short lead and he actually seems to be enjoying his walk better. Have also abandoned my trusty Nordic pole that is almost as big as I am which is taken under the guise of helping me walk faster when the truth is, it is to ward off evil dogs that might hurt Ernie! Have come across a couple of dogs, the first he started to bark furiously at (the other owner picked up her dog) but then we crossed over a traffic light crossing and he didn’t even look at the dog. Nearer home I saw a boxer on a lead which he would normally bark at, he clocked it after a while but looked up at me, put his head down and kept walking. Came across a pitbull and an alsation both on leads later in the day and unfortunately I panicked (he hadn’t even seen them!) and turned the other way and he started gasping as I do in a panic so I have no doubt my fear travelled down the lead. It is a work in progress but he seems to enjoy the massage with the music and just goes to sleep.

Hi Ewan,
Many thanks for the paperwork. We are already seeing such a difference in them. They are both actually sitting side by side listening to commands, its great. Have not separated them as yet as the weather is still a bit unpredictable as we need to use the cage in the porch. The walking is improving and they are loving the freedom with the exercise. Many thanks for your visit, delighted with their progress in just under a week!! It makes such a difference to see and gives so much pleasure. The cats are coming in and eating their dinner right in front of them which is unbelievable, they dont want to just pop in for a short second or two they seem to feel far more relaxed.... things can only get better. Will keep you updated.
Best
Karen, Adrian and Lucy and Leo (Penicuik)
Hello Ewan,
Thanks for being so prompt sending the clicker info and Brodies' training.
We have noticed a difference already, with him jumping up by telling him to "sit". It is especially noticable when we come in after work, he calms down a lot quicker. I have been telling him to "sit & stay". It only works with eye contact but I can have about 6 feet and he will stay - which is progress indeed!
He has been mouthing a bit, a lot less though, and we are able to calm him a lot quicker. [Following your instructions] does work.
I will get a pic of him and send it on soon.
Thanks once again.
Regards,
Andrew & Susan and Brodie (Cowdenbeath)
"Hi Ewan,
Quick update..... Harvey has pretty much become desensitised to the door bell with only an occasional couple barks when caught off guard. Huge improvement.... when visitors arrived last week, as soon as barking occurred from him towards them.... [we followed your instructions].
The "look at me" is off to a tee, and Ruth has taught him to lie down and I've got him to roll over without having to touch him (treat required!!). When he barks on his walks... trying "quiet" and reward and look at me distractions. Loads more work to do, but huge improvement....
Thanks a million for your help,"
Mark, Ruth, Lucia and Harvey (Edinburgh)
Hi Ewan,
Just another Franklin update. He's doing pretty well. We're practicing 'watch me's' with dogs as the distraction. I'm still more confident doing it in 'open' spaces and have had lots of practice and success at the park. Darren walks Franklin to and from the park (I drive) and he's got some good practice in. So he's definately showing progress.
Really enjoying our walks at the park. He's a proper little gentleman. Didn't put a paw out of line on Friday. Followed every command and only went to greet dogs when i gave him a 'say hello' command. My confidence is really growing and I'm far calmer on walks. He's picking this up. On a couple of occasions people have come out of nowhere and it's been closer than I would normally get. I totally ignored them and Franklin passed without a peep!
We'll keep with the programme, and I'm sure he'll continue to improve. I'm looking forward to our social dog walk tomorrow. They've been great for him.
Thanks again.
Clair, Darren and Franklin (Dunfermline)
Hey Ewan,
Sorry for taking ages to reply. I'm rubbish at catching up on emails.
Tara is getting on well. We are continuing with the techniques you showed us and are definitely finding the distraction techniques work. We have been socialising her with a friends dog and she has been having a great time playing, so she does seem to know how to play well with other dogs, once we get passed the initial fear stages.
Iain, Sarah and Tara (Dunfermline)
Hi Ewan
Thanks for your email. We are still making improvements-only the occasional growl at things out the window now so thats a lot better than it was.She is better on the lead with other dogs particularly when not around my area but still not great around my local streets for some reason.... But things are getting better all the time.
I'm happy with things in general and have things to work on still over the next few months.
Joanna and Ruby (Kirkcaldy)
Hi Ewan
It was a pleasure for us to meet you and thank you for spending so much time with Jess on Sunday.
Your "care plan" is certainly detailed and you are right , I will be busy!
We were at the vets on Tuesday and I discussed the possibility of medication and I have some information home to discuss with Robin.
So far we are doing well with the clicker leaving the house in the morning and have so far reduced the level of barking.
I will let you know how we progress.
Your CD arrived today , thank you.
Claire, Robin and Jess (Glasgow)
Thanks for this Ewan. I'm sure the CD will be a great help. I have already done some training today and managed to get the hoover out the cupboard while she sat and stayed.
I also managed to print something while she sat although she was champing at the bit to dive at the printer, but managed to distract her with commands and treats. We now have lots of helpful tips to continue the process of desensitisation.
Many thanks
Carol and Tanya (Dalgety Bay)

I have gathered anonymous customer feedback regarding my service. It's a resounding success with an incredible 92.9% success rate
And some responses from my customer satisfaction survey (POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE)
Ewan was very helpful and professional. He gave me a clear picture of my dogs behaviour issues and how to address them with a detailed plan. He regularly keeps in touch for updates and to offer support. I would recommend K9 behaviour services to anyone having issues with their dog
Ewan is very knowledgeable and professional and knew right away what was wrong with our dog. He showed us some invaluable techniques which we still use to this day.
Too long winded on visit, reason didn't ask for a follow up was that the initial visit went on for too long and I felt it wasn't at all useful
You have changed our lives. At one point we thought a dog-aggressive dog would limit our ability to take her out anywhere. In fact we suspected that's why she was rehomed and overweight because she couldn't be socialised! K9 services saved her life! Transformed her completely. It wasn't overnight but with Ewan's instruction and continued email support and guidance we have a completely sociable dog. I can take anywhere and can now interact completely passively with all animals! I can't thank Ewan enough!! I have recommended Ewan to many people!
We could not believe the change in Azzurris behaviour, we noticed a change after 2 days of following Ewan's advice. Ewan helped us to get our status back were Azzurri was concerned, we are so grateful for all the help and advice from Ewan, things are so much easier now, and we are still a couple, if we had not have Ewan's help our relationship was going to come to an end.
Excellent supportive service offering well researched information and awareness of dog behaviour with clear concise instructions on how to balance the "pack" encouraging and rewarding good behaviour. I would have no hesitation in recommending Euans' services to others, in fact I already have and know they too are very pleased with the service offered. His approach is friendly and makes both owner and pet at ease to develop skills.
Unfortunately it didnt work for us and we had to rehome one of our dogs. Since re-homing all her issues have disappeared which proves that she was better in a home suited to no other pets as her issues would appear to have manifested from being in a pack. Still found K9 behaviour services superb.
Very good. The things we were told to do worked really well for our dog and very fast I would get Ewan in again if I had any more problems he was great to work with
I saw improvement in my dog's behaviour within a few days. Some days were better than others but now I feel (reasonably) confident at walking my dog past other dogs without a fight breaking out!
Ewan is a very knowledgeable trainer whose advice was clear and concise. We noticed improvements almost straight away. Have no hesitation recommending him.
